The band were formed in 1990 in Braintree, Essex by Liam Howlett. There first single that reached the charts in the uk was 'charley' it reached number three. There first album was made in 1992 it was called 'experiance'. They have been known to include controversial references to topics such as domestic abuse and drugs. They are still together to this date and have been touring for around 20 years.

The prodigy have many influences such the music of ska hip hop electro and rave but their favourite bands are public enemy the specials bomb squad protection

They have played with Rage against the machine, David Bowie, Moby and the chemical brothers. The most famous they have played with Dj was Paul Oakenfold.

They have released four to five albums which have sold over twenty million Cd's and records in their time my favourite is the 'Their Law' which is a range of popular songs from 1990-2005
